Visiting Nurse Services Receives $10,000 Grant from Prairie Meadows

Visiting Nurse Services (VNS) recently received a $10,000 grant from Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino through its 2007 Community Betterment Grant Program.  Grant funds will support the Stork’s Nest and Family Nest Programs through which pregnant and parenting women can earn points for healthy activities such as attending medical visits and educational classes.  These points can be redeemed for infant care items such as cribs, car seats, diapers, and other critical baby care items.

“We are grateful for the continued partnership with Prairie Meadows.” said Jen Van Liew, President & CEO of VNS.  “This partnership will help ensure that we are able to provide support in the form of education and critical health related items such as car seats, cribs, and diapers.  The families we serve through the Nest Programs do not have resources to buy cribs and car seats.  Participating in this program provides a way for families to earn points to “purchase” these items through the Nest Store.”
